FAQ

HOW GOOD IS TCC BEEF?

Typically our beef grades at prime or choice, the top two grades of beef available that you would receive in a nice restaurant. We deliver that same quality beef directly to you; at a lower price than the cost you’d pay in a nice restaurant.

HOW DO I GET TCC BEEF?

Place your order on our website.  You can get TCC beef in 3 ways:

1. We ship smaller packs of beef directly to your doorstep! Your beef will arrive frozen and ready to throw into your freezer for future meals!

2. We have local pickups that are scheduled out for each month in Meridian, Eagle and Boise. You can locate those details under the 'Pickup & Shipping' tab at the top of our website.

3. You can order a beef share in 1/4, 1/2 or whole beef sizes.  If you have ordered a beef share and opt for butcher paper, the meat will be picked up at Wakefield Meats in Melba, ID by the customer. If you order clear vacuum seal, the beef will be picked up at Greenfield Custom Meats in Meridian by the customer.

WHAT CUTS OF MEAT WILL I GET IF I ORDER A BEEF SHARE?

That’s up to you.  We want the package count and cuts to work for you and your family. You can choose how many steaks per package, how thick, etc.

If you choose ¼ beef, it is a standard set of cuts so that we can split 1/2 beef evenly between two customers. If you order ½  beef or more, you get to choose your cuts and talk with the butcher directly about what you want.

If there are requests for really specialized cuts or items, there may be a small upcharge that you would be responsible to cover beyond the cost per lb paid to TCC.

All shares will include ground beef, roasts, premium steaks, middle of the road steaks and an assortment of limited cuts like tri tip or flank steak.

HOW MUCH ARE YOUR BEEF SHARES?

The cost of our beef shares varies with each animal we butcher.  The costs below are based on our most recent harvest but every animal will vary and your cost could be higher or lower than those shown below.

1/4 beef average:

Vacuum seal: 200 lbs x $4.25 = $850 + tax = $901

Butcher paper: 200 lbs x $4.00 = $800 + tax = $848

1/2 beef average:

Vacuum seal: 380 lbs x $4.00 = $1,520 + tax = $1,611.20

Butcher paper: 380 lbs x $3.75 = $1,425 + tax = $1,510.50

Whole beef average:

Vacuum seal: 790 lbs x $4.00 = $3,160 + tax = $3,349.60

Butcher paper: 790 lbs x $3.75 = $2,962.50 + tax = $3,140.25

CAN I MAKE PAYMENTS FOR MY BEEF SHARE?

Yes! We're happy to set up payments arrangements that work for you. Many customers prefer to pay in a lump sum just before pickup but we also have many customers that pay $150 - $250 each pay period so they reduce that lump sum due at the end.

The $250 or $500 deposit is applied to the total due.

Just email us at service@thomascattlecompany.com or place your deposit order and add notes that you'd like to setup a payment plan.

HOW LONG CAN I FREEZE MY BEEF SHARE ONCE I GET IT?

White butcher paper: 1 year

Vacuum Seal: 1 – 2 years

WHAT’S IN THE FEED YOU GIVE YOUR HERD?

For 85% of the life of our beef, they graze feed in the Owyhee Mountains and our ranches in southern Idaho and Eastern Oregon.  The cows and calves head up the mountains in March and then in October and November of each year, we are moving them back down the mountains to our homeplace in Oreana, ID.

For the last 90-120 days of their life, they are fed a ration of grass and alfalfa, with a side of corn, all grown locally in our local valley. This provides superior marbling, tenderness and rich taste in TCC all natural beef.

Your purchase is not only supporting our ranch family but also the farm families that raise the feed we finish our all natural beef on.
