welcome to thomas cattle company!
FROM OUR FAMILY RANCH TO YOUR FAMILY'S TABLE
Seth & Elizabeth Thomas, and Logan & Kristin Thomas own and operate Thomas Cattle Company, a third-generation ranching operation with ranches in Idaho and Oregon.
Rare is a ranching operation that can successfully retain ownership through the life cycle of the animal and provide year around supply. With a large herd base, we can meet even our larger customers' needs.
In southwestern Idaho, the Thomas family raises their family and their herd in the mountain desert of the Owyhee's. With elevations that run from 2,700 feet up to 7,200 feet, there is a wide expanse of terrain for the herd to roam free, for most of the year, on tens of thousands of acres.
we're so happy you found us!
OUR CATTLE
Thomas Cattle Company raises all natural Angus beef with exceptional attention to humane handling practices, a focus on consistency and attention to detail, and a superior focus on the health of the herd.
Humanely raising our Angus herd is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that the better care we take of our cattle, the better they will serve our end customer in their quality and product consistency. We take pride in our attention to detail in animal husbandry practices.
At TCC, our premium all natural beef is grass-fed and grain-finished.
For 85% of the life of our beef, they graze feed in the Owyhee Mountains and our ranches in southern Idaho and Eastern Oregon. The cows and calves head up the mountains in March and then in October and November of each year, we are moving them back down the mountains to our homeplace in Oreana, ID.
For the last 120-150 days of their life, our cattle are fed a ration of grass and alfalfa, with a side of corn, all grown locally in our local valley. Finishing with grain provides superior marbling, tenderness and rich taste in TCC all natural beef.
Typically, our beef grades prime or choice, the top two grades of beef available that you would receive in a nice restaurant. We deliver that same quality beef directly to you; at a lower price than the cost you’d pay in a nice restaurant.
Stewardship of our Land
Thomas Cattle Company regularly partners with agencies such as the USDA and NRCS to implement programs to improve the range ground for our herd as well as other native species. TCC was featured in a 2017 BEEF magazine article, "Thomas Brothers make the ground better in Idaho's Owyhee Mountains." We believe that the better we care for our ranch land, the better we will leave it for children's future and all those who use it.
Our Passion
24/7/365 the team at Thomas Cattle Company approaches their roles with passion. Ranching isn't a profession you do half-heartedly. It's a commitment you make day in and day out to wake up and do your best to serve your herd. At TCC we hire the best and most passionate in the business because we know that translates to better beef for our customers.
A custom quote for materials and overnight shipping will be provided. Beef shares do not qualify for our standard shipping rates.

WHAT’S IN THE FEED YOU GIVE YOUR HERD?
For 85% of the life of our beef, they graze feed in the Owyhee Mountains and our ranches in southern Idaho and Eastern Oregon. The cows and calves head up the mountains in March and then in October and November of each year, we are moving them back down the mountains to our homeplace in Oreana, ID.
For the last 120-150 days of their life, our cattle are fed a ration of grass and alfalfa, with a side of corn, all grown locally in our local valley. Finishing with grain provides superior marbling, tenderness and rich taste in TCC all natural beef.
Your purchase is not only supporting our ranch family but also the farm families that raise the feed we finish our all-natural beef on.
WHERE IS OREANA, IDAHO?
Oreana, Idaho is a small farm and ranch community located one hour and twenty minutes southeast of Boise, Idaho. Our population sign says '7, sometimes 8' if that gives you any idea of how small it is.
Our nearest big towns are Nampa, ID or Mountain Home, ID, both being about 45 minutes away from the ranch. We are squarely between Grand View, Idaho and Murphy, Idaho.
DO YOU USE THE mRNA VACCINE?
There are ZERO ranchers in the US currently using mRNA in their beef. That’s because there are no vaccines approved for use in beef cattle that use mRNA technology.
While this is a hotly contested conversation, the silver lining is that consumers are able to ask these questions directly to their ranchers. When you go direct, you get direct access to ask questions, learn and find out more from those that are producing your beef.
Our goal at Thomas Cattle Company is to provide you quality beef that you can count on. We are certified all natural by third parties, meaning no added hormones or antibiotics are used.
