Actions always speak louder than words. What we say and what we do can be very different.

We tell our kids to be kind but then sometimes don’t choose kind actions.

We tell our kids that it’s all for them but then sometimes choose otherwise.

We tell our kids that things should be fair but then realize that they usually are not.
.
We try to protect our kids but then fail in some situations and even worse, hurt their feelings ourselves.
.
We can lay our best plans of the way things should go for our children but we always know that things will not go according to plans in some situations.

The important way in leading our children, and what I remind myself daily, is that we show up again each day, day after day, and try again to set an example and show them how to be resilient, even when we fail or don’t hit the mark.

We apologize and ask for forgiveness and hope that in the end, when they leave our households to make their mark on the world, we’ve shown them that it’s ok not to be perfect and the important thing is that we shake the bad days off and wake up each day to give it our best shot again. ️
